[경제] Sri Lanka's foreign debt Issues and Challenges

There are 2 types of major debt in Sri Lanka. That is domestic debt and foreign debt. The domestic debt we can get from CB by issuing T bills and bonds. Another one is government can borrow rupee loans from the banks. Other type is foreign debt. This foreign debt problem in Sri Lanka is not new to us. This problem is based on China’s debt trap and frequent defaults. According to the Annual report of 2021, total cash inflows and outflows in 2021 will be Rs. 1389.8 billion and Rs. 3431.1 billion. The total deficit is Rs. 2041.3 billion. The total foreign debt is 6.8 billion rupees, which is 45.7% of the GDP.
