In Bhutan, output is estimated to have contracted by 3.7 percent in FY20/21, with broad based contractions in the non-hydro industrial and services sector, reflecting COVID-19-related disruptions. The fiscal deficit has increased to 6.3 percent in FY20/21 due to fiscal measures to support livelihoods and the recovery of the economy, amid subdued revenue performance. Poverty is expected to have increased with the economic contraction translating into lower household incomes.
