The public consultation by the working group on euro risk-free rates (hereinafter called the “working group”) on €STR-based EURIBOR fallback rates closed on Friday, 15 January 2021. The consultation drew considerable interest from various actors in the financial sector. 65 market participants – 50 of which were from the banking sector – provided responses. In addition to this sectoral coverage, the response sample also ensures appropriate geographic coverage. The main messages from the respondents may be summarised as follows:
