도이모이(Doi moi)정책 실시 이후 지속적이고도 빠른 경제성장세를 이어오고 있는 베트남은 차이나리스크를 피하고자 하는 다국적 기업들에게 매력적인 투자처로 부상하고 있다. 특히 한국과 베트남은 1991년 수교 이후 교역 및 투자규모에서 양적 성장을 지속해 오면서 베트남의 최대 투자국중의 하나로 자리 잡고 있다. 그러나 이러한 성장과 위상에 비해 베트남에 진출한 한국기업들에 대한 연구는 상대적으로 미진하다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 향후 베트남의 내수시장 성장에 대비하여 기업의 성공과 관련된 중요 요인이라 할 수 있는 경영진 현지화를 중심으로 실증연구를 수행하였다. 실증연구 결과 자회사에 대한 투자금액이 높을수록 자회사에 대한 통제와 감시의 요구가 높아져 현지와의 수준이 낮아지며, 투자목적에서 현지지향성이 높을수록 현지화의 수준이 높아질 것이라는 가설이 지지됨을 확인하였다. 그러나 자회사의 경험이 많을수록 현지의 인재를 확보 할 수 있는 네트워크의 축적으로 현지화의 수준이 높아질 것이라는 가설은 통계적으로 유의미한 결과를 보이지는 않았다. 또한 북부지역과 남부지역의 지형적, 문화적 차이로 인해 현지화의 수준이 차이를 보일 것이라는 가설 역시 가설과 같은 방향의 관계를 보이기는 하였지만 통계적으로 유의미한 결과를 보이지는 못했다. 본 연구는 기존 연구에서 나타난 현지화 영향 요인들이 베트남이라는 특정 지역에서도 적용되고 있는지를 확인하고 더불어 베트남의 독특한 특징인 남부 베트남과 북부 베트남의 지역 차이가 경영진 현지화 수준에도 영향을 미치는지를 살펴봄으로써 베트남 지역에 대한 이해를 확장시키고 기업의 현지화 연구에도 시사점을 제공하여 학문적, 실무적으로 기여하고자 하였다는 점에서 의미를 찾을 수 있을 것이다. 

With the economy development and the effort of Vietnamese government to attract FDI into the country, the FDI has increased with big amount, and the Korea is the biggest investors in the country with 2,294 companies invested into the country. In spite of the investment of MNCs from Korea and other countries into Vietnam, the international business research, especially the research relating to management environment and especially the localization in Vietnam is still lagged behind. This study, by analyzing data of 61 Korean subsidiaries in Vietnam collected by survey and information from the website of Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry, investigate the factors which is related to localization. We found that the investment capital and the local sales ratio influence the localization level of Korean subsidiaries in Vietnam significantly. The location that the subsidiaries are in the South (Ho Chi Minh) has insignificant impact on localization level. But the result showed that the localization level of the subsidiaries located in the North(Ha noi) is higher than that of subsidiaries in the South.
